Turkish police arrested 11 suspects in an alleged hack of cryptocurrency accounts that led to a loss of more than US$80,000.

Turkish police arrested 11 suspects in an alleged hack of cryptocurrency accounts that led to a loss of more than US$80,000. Hackers in Istanbul, Turkey, had compromised 14 victims’ email addresses, crypto-wallet data, and passwords. They then transferred stolen cryptocurrencies from victims’ wallets to multiple accounts before selling them for fiat currency. Police also seized fake identity cards, mobile phones, memory sticks, and SIM cards whose numbers were registered to cryptocurrency exchange accounts used by the hackers.
