Malaysia’s Leading Media Group Suffers Ransomware Attack

Malaysia’s leading media group Media Prima, which owns newspapers New Straits Times, Berita Harian and TV3, suffered a ransomware attack in which attackers demanded RM 26 million worth of bitcoins in ransom.
Malaysia’s leading media group Media Prima, which owns newspapers New Straits Times, Berita Harian and TV3, suffered a ransomware attack in which attackers demanded RM 26 million worth of bitcoins in ransom. It is not known whether Media Prima’s data had been breached and whether the media group suffered financial losses from the attack. Media Prima has decided not to pay the ransom.
