Midlands Regional Hospital Suffers Ransomware Attack

The Midlands Regional Hospital, a public hospital in Ireland managed by the Irish Government’s Health Service Executive, suffered a ransomware attack that affected its Laboratory Information System and associated IT infrastructure.

The Midlands Regional Hospital, a public hospital in Ireland managed by the Irish Government’s Health Service Executive, suffered a ransomware attack that affected its Laboratory Information System and associated IT infrastructure. The Health Service Executive said that the attack did not affect patient care and business continuity plans are in operation until the entire hospital system is restored.
