Thousands of students from UK universities have been hit by a significant volume of fake tax refund emails in the past three to four weeks.

Thousands of students from UK universities have been hit by a significant volume of fake tax refund emails in the past three to four weeks. The fake emails appeared to come from legitimate email addresses and contain messages about tax refunds. Recipients are asked to click on a malicious link where they divulge their banking and personal information. The number of student victims and financial loss caused by the phishing emails are not known.
