Marriott Hack Exposes 500 Million Customers

Marriott International, an American multinational hospitality company, said that its Starwood reservation system was hacked, exposing the personal data of up to 500 million customers, including their passport and credit card details.
Marriott International, an American multinational hospitality company, said that its Starwood reservation system was hacked, exposing the personal data of up to 500 million customers, including their passport and credit card details. Marriott detected the hack on 8 September and determined in November that the Starwood system had been breached since 2014. Marriott has reported the incident to law enforcement, and investigations are ongoing.
