Australian government contractors were recently targeted in a new tender-themed phishing scam that sought to lure users into divulging their account credentials by registering for eligibility to bid on commercial projects in 2019. The phishing emails appeared to come from the Secretary of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Steven Kennedy, and displayed a purported tender notification letter. Recipients were asked to click on a ‘tender’ button that redirected them to a replica site of the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development, and Cities designed to pilfer login credentials.
