The University of Kentucky in Kentucky, United States, was targeted in a new gift card email scam in which scammers impersonated a university executive and requested for gift cards.

The University of Kentucky in Kentucky, United States, was targeted in a new gift card email scam in which scammers impersonated a university executive and requested for gift cards. The scam emails used email accounts that resembled the email address of the purported executive. The scammers requested recipients’ help to obtain Amazon gift cards and promised to reimburse them. The university has issued a warning on the gift card scam and reminded colleagues not to send money or gift cards without verifying the sender.
