Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) suffered a data breach, which exposed a sensitive database containing information of some 14,200 HIV positive individuals. The breach originates from an insider threat when a former MOH employee with authorised access to confidential health information shared the database with an unauthorised person in 2016. The unauthorised person has recently posted the sensitive database on the Internet that contains the personal details of 5,400 Singaporeans and 8,800 foreigners diagnosed with HIV from 1985 to 2011. The leaked information includes names, identification numbers, phone numbers, addresses, HIV test results and medical information.
