A US-based point-of-sales (POS) solution provider, North Country Business Products (NCBP), recently discovered a data breach that exposed customers' payment information at 137 US restaurants. The POS malware was planted in NCBP's network after hackers successfully compromised the company’s IT systems. Three businesses have multiple sites affected namely Dunn Brothers Coffee (66 locations), Zipps Sport Grill (9 locations) and Someburros (seven locations). The stolen information, which included cardholder name, credit card number, expiration date, and CVV, can be monetised in underground hackers' forum or used for online fraud.
