APT 28 (aka Fancy Bear, Sofacy, Sednit) is targeting political organisations, think tanks and non-profit organisations engaged in the May 2019 European Parliament election. From September to December, the group used spear phishing emails against the targeted organisations to install malware and steal login credentials. APT 28 is believed to be sponsored by Russian intelligence and has been accused of hacking Democratic National Committee emails to help Donald Trump during the US 2016 presidential elections. Russia has denied any involvements in the alleged hacking attempts.
