An unprotected server belonging to a Brazilian financial service provider has exposed 250GB of personal data from customers of various local banks. The number of people affected in the data leak is unknown, but majority of the victims are customers of Banco Pan, a mid-size commercial bank headquartered in Sao Paulo. Leaked personal data include scanned IDs and personal identification cards, as well as documents provided as proof of address and service request forms filled out by customers. Banco Pan has assured customers that its banking infrastructure is not compromised, and appropriate safety measures will be implemented to deal with potential information misuse arising from the exposed data.
