Marketer Exposes 198 Million Car Buyer Records
A US car dealership marketing firm, Dealer Leads, has left a massive data trove unprotected after misconfiguring its Elasticsearch server. The database contains 413GB of data or an estimated 198 million records with personal identifiable information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses and loan and finance inquiries. It is unclear how long the database has been exposed to the public or if the affected individuals have been notified of the data incident.
