College Struck by Ransomware Attack
The Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) in Louisiana, US, suffered a ransomware attack that encrypted several computer servers and forced the school network to shut down to prevent the malware from spreading. The swift containment action limited the scope and impact of the incident, allowing the college to begin restoring affected servers without paying any ransom. The incident did not affect school curriculum as the students were preparing for their graduation ceremony.
