Cyber Attacks on Fleet Management System
The Transport Ministry in Cyprus is investigating a series of cyberattacks on bus companies’ fleet management systems that were deployed by Spanish technological business group, GMV. The affected GMV fleet management systems were meant to provide passengers with real-time updates of bus locations, integrated payment systems, and a central back-office which gives companies access to maps and routes. These systems have been experiencing distributed-denial-of-service attacks since September, but the attacks did not cause any major disruption to bus operation.
