Three people suspected of using web skimmers to steal payment card details from e-commerce websites were arrested in Indonesia during a joint operation between POLRI and Interpol. The three were part of a Magecart group dubbed GetBilling that has been active since 2017. GetBilling was responsible for planting JScript skimmer on at least 571 websites, of which 17 remained infected. The stolen payment card data were used to buy electronic devices and luxury items, which were resold at below the market prices. The latest arrests are not expected to reduce MageCart infections as GetBilling is only responsible for 1% of all MageCart incidents since 2018.
